How to prepare your mug design
- Download the pack using the button at the end of this article.
- Unpack the RAR and save the files in a folder.
- Choose one of the nine PNG designs and open it in your design program.
- Measure your mug’s printable area. Resize the image without stretching it in just one direction.
- Check where the friends and quote sit relative to the handle. A paper test can help you see the placement.
- Before making the final mug, make sure the lettering is readable and important details stay within the printable area.
Choosing a design for your friend
For a gift between two friends, start with the two-person illustrations. For a group, compare the designs with three or four people. If you want a short message, look at “Best Friends” and “Soul Sisters”. The design with two friends raising glasses includes an adult humor phrase.
Read the supplied lettering before printing. Some phrases use informal or nonstandard English. The pack retains its original wording, so check that it suits your gift.
Before you print
For sublimation, use a mug made for that process. Follow the instructions supplied with your mug, ink and equipment when choosing time and heat settings. Screen colors may look different on the finished mug, so make a test first.
